SAN ANTONIO --
According to the Department of Justice, a Bexar County corrections officer was charged on Thursday in a two-count federal indictment with violating the civil rights of two detainees.
The charges stem from two incidents -- on Oct. 8, 2007, and on May 31, 2009 -– in which Raymond Quintero, 33, of San Antonio, assaulted inmates at the Bexar County Detention Center, a Department of Justice spokesman said.
If convicted, Quintero faces maximum penalties of 10 years in prison on each of the civil rights charges.
