Ohio Officers Rescue Two Girls From Creek

Police in Springfield said two girls who are approximately 10-12 years old were rescued from Buck Creek in Sherman Park on Monday afternoon.

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio --

Police in Springfield said two girls who are approximately 10-12 years old were rescued from Buck Creek in Sherman Park on Monday afternoon.

According to officers, the girls were playing near the creek when one of them fell in. The second girl was able to pull the first girl out of the water and then she fell into the water herself.

Police said an man and his son were walking nearby and saw the girls in the water. The man gave his son his cell phone and he called 911.

A Springfield police officer and a detective were in the area and jumped into the water and rescued the girl who was clinging to a large log for safety.

The girls were checked by medics at the scene and are expected to be fine.
