The supervisor was placed on administrative leave for three days and an investigation was underway.
BELLE GLADE, Fla. --
A Florida Highway Patrol trooper shot herself accidentally during a weapons inspection in Belle Glade Friday night.
FHP said trooper and weapons instructor Mellow Schetz was shot in the back of her upper thigh during the semiannual weapons qualifications at about 9:45 p.m.
She was airlifted from the Belle Glade Law Enforcement Range to Delray Medical Center with injuries that were not life-threatening.
