TOWSON, Md. --

Baltimore County police said an officer escaped injury after a 15-year-old boy tried to run him over Thursday morning in Towson.

Police said that at about 12:30 a.m., officers were looking for stolen cars in the 6500 block of Falkirk Road, when someone driving a car refused to stop for police and instead tried to run over an officer.

The officer, an 11-year veteran of the force, wasn't hurt.

Investigators said the culprit was able to drive away, and that he later jumped out of the vehicle and ran away.

Authorities found the car and eventually the driver. He was charged as a juvenile with attempted murder, first-degree assault and theft.

Police also arrested a second person who was in another car that was stolen. That suspect is a 16-year-old boy who was charged as a juvenile with theft.

The investigation into stolen vehicles in the Towson area continues.
