PALM BAY, Fla. --

Two teenagers were rescued from an overturned canoe in Brevard County on Thursday.

The incident happened along Nixon Circle in Palm Bay.

Authorities with the Palm Bay Police Department said some police officers dove into a small pond to make the rescue.

"The first two officers went in to try to get the men along with a neighbor, who was trying to get them to safety," Palm Bay Police Department spokeswoman Yvonne Martinez said.

CPR was performed on the victims, ages 15 and 19, until the Palm Bay Fire Department arrived and took them to Palm Bay Hospital.

Investigators said the victim had been underwater for at least five minutes.
