HOUSTON --
Three Spring Branch Independent Schools were placed on lockdown Friday after a burglary suspect assaulted a police officer, investigators said.
Spring Branch ISD police said Hunters Creek Elementary, Memorial Drive Elementary, Spring Branch Middle School and its administration building were locked down shortly after 12 p.m.
Memorial Villages police responded to a burglary on Long Shadow Drive near Trails End Street on Friday morning. The homeowner was home when the crooks broke in, officials said.
Detectives said an officer confronted at least one burglary suspect and was assaulted. The extent of the officer's injuries was not released.
Police said they arrested three men, but a fourth has not been captured. A description of him has not been released, but police said he may have been injured and may be bleeding.
The men are suspects in a burglary ring, police said. They left a black Jaguar at the scene. It was towed to collect evidence.
The lock downs at the schools were lifted at 1:30 p.m.
