Ariz. Police Officer Killed in Crash while Responding to Call

Tucson Police Officer Adam Buckner was responding to a call when he collided with another vehicle that had run through a red light at an intersection near the University of Arizona campus.

An Arizona police officer died in a collision with another vehicle while responding to a call late Sunday.

The crash involving Tucson Police Officer Adam Buckner happened just before 10 p.m. at an intersection near the University of Arizona, KOLD-TV reports. Another driver is accused of running through a red light and colliding with Buckner's cruiser.

Following the crash, officers and bystanders performed CPR on Buckner, 31, until medics reached the scene. The officer was then rushed to the hospital, where he died.

The driver in the other vehicle suffered minor injuries in the crash. No charges have been filed in the incident, and authorities do not believe the driver was impaired.
