Impoving Investigations: Crime Scene and Interview Techniques

This training was designed for patrol officers as well as detectives to help improve investigations by developing and refining the skills and techniques of police officers and investigators and to enhance their knowledge base ranging from crime scene protection and evidence collection to improving information obtained from witnesses and assessing the truthfulness of suspect statements. Some topics covered include evidence, photography, latent prints, footwear, trace evidence, DNA, interviewing, developing rapport, enhancing witness memory, strategic use of evidence in interviews, deception in language and statement analysis techniques.
