Itronix Corp. introduces the Duo-Touch Tablet PC, a next-generation, portable, wireless, rugged slate tablet PC for mobile professionals. The Duo-Touch feature updates include the Intel Pentium M processor 733, the ability to support up to four radios (WLAN, WWAN, bluetooth and GPS), integrated GPS, more memory, a brighter display and a more rugged case. The name "Duo-Touch" refers to the new dual-mode touch panel, which provides both a passive touchscreen and standard digitizer, or "active" touchscreen.
Itronix Corp. offers the GoBook VR-1 as one of the world's toughest semi-rugged notebook computers. The GoBook VR-1 represents the introduction of a new semi-rugged product line that builds on the company's family of fully-rugged, wireless notebooks, handhelds, and tablet PCs. The Itronix GoBook III redefines state-of-the-art computing in ruggedized computing. An integrated high-performance GPS and Common Radio Module Architecture (CRMA) allows users to upgrade to new wireless technologies as they evolve. Designed to perform in mobile outdoor environments, Itronix's General Dynamics GoBook XR-1 combines rugged features with high-performance computing and comprehensive wireless capabilities with unmatched security features in a product. Using the next generation of mobile dual-core processor from Intel, GoBook XR-1features increased graphics capabilities using a dedicated external graphics controller with a 40 MB or 80 MB 5400 rpm SATA hard drive, a power management utility, an integrated Ethernet 1GB LAN using Microsoft's XP Professional operating system and requires very little hard drive space to successfully run. The touch-screen display uses a multi-layer anti-reflective coating process to improve outdoor viewability and glow-in-the-dark keys and optional backlit keyboard improve keyboard viewing in low light conditions. The GoBook XR-1 meets military standard ratings for drop/shock and vibration, is water tight and features an innovatively designed keyboard that can withstand liquids, abrasive dust and dirt particles commonly found in outdoor and industrial environments. The sealed design can even withstand bleach-water submersion and scrub tests, required after exposure to toxic substances. Users also have a choice of a capacitive or resistive touch pad, which can be used in rain or when wearing gloves. For operations in sub-zero weather, the product incorporates standard heaters for the hard drive and display, which assure operation in the coldest environment, while extending these components' life. The notebook has the capability for up to four embedded concurrent wireless radios - WLAN, WWAN, Bluetooth and GPS - to ensure the widest range of coverage options with seamless roaming capabilities offered via special wireless management software. The notebook features user-removable hard drives for added flexibility in securing data and also supports the industry standard Trusted Platform Module version 1.2, which is a network security shield for data and content. The GoBook XR-1 also has an optional fingerprint scanner and smart card to simplify password entry. Vehicle and office docking stations are both available.
