Española, N.M. – Nov. 29, 2016 – The Espanola/Rio Arriba E-911 (ERA911) Center went live with Spillman Technologies’ Flex software system on Tuesday. The dispatch center will be using Flex’s Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) capabilities to help manage its first responders. ERA911 joins six other New Mexico agencies currently using Flex.
ERA911 signed with Spillman in August of this year. 911 Director Marti Griego said that the staff looks forward to using many features of Spillman’s software, including the ability to instantly cross-reference data.
“I believe it will be a positive impact to our community,” Griego said. ”It gives ERA911 Center staff the ability to better serve the public by utilizing highly sought-after tools that help promote safety. It will help the staff use and disseminate the information it receives.”
The dispatch center was previously using a CAD system that, according to Griego, was outdated and no longer supported by the manufacturer. ERA911 did not know how long their system would keep working for them, and the Spillman Flex CAD system met their needs in an expedited manner.
“Spillman did a presentation in Taos, NM, a couple of years back,” Griego said. “My staff was impressed and when our system began failing, we called and began the process of getting quotes. It well exceeded the other CAD systems we researched.”
The ERA911 staff looks forward to using their new Spillman system to improve support for the three law enforcement and 28 public safety agencies they serve in Rio Arriba County.
