I recently received another very nice piece of kit from Marz Tactical Gear. Marz Tactical Gear makes a full line of nylon kit that is produced right here in theUSA. What they sent me is their Combat Medic Pouch. Don’t be fooled by the name though. You don’t need to be a medic to make great use of this piece of kit. The simplest way to describe the use of this pouch is that it’s a piggy back pouch that holds three rifle magazines and in front of the rifle mags is a large utility pouch.
The pouch itself is made from 1000D nylon for durability. It’s easily attached to MOLLE or PALS webbing with four straps on the back of the pouch. The ends of the straps have a flexible polymer inner liner and are folded in on themselves once woven through the MOLLE. The magazine pouches will hold three M4 magazines in separate compartments. Magazines are held in place with adjustable or removable bungee cords equipped with non slip pull tabs. The main compartment has a gray pull tab for quick opening or you can use the double zippers. A short length of 550 cord is provided and can be used to limit how far the compartment opens in a drawbridge fashion. Inside, you will find a mesh pocket as well as large and small elastic loops to secure various types of gear or medical supplies. A panel of loop on the outside of the main compartment allows you to attached your blood type and allergy patches or your favorite morale patches. No MOLLE webbing was put on the front of the pouch to minimize the foot print.
Besides the obvious uses for this pouch, I found another great use. For this article I made this a tri-mission pouch to display the versatility. I filled it with medical supplies and rifle magazines as well as a survival kit. This could come in handy if you are on a manhunt in a rural area or maybe this is part of your Bug Out kit. Enlarge the photo of the pouch in the open position and you’ll see just how much kit is there. While this kit is not absolutely perfect, you’ll find:

As you can see, this piece of kit and its possible uses are limited only to your imagination. I think that what you’ll find is that you will be constantly adjusting your pouches contents to best suit your mission because being ready for a bad situation requires a constant reassessment of your kit.
I think this would be extremely good for the primary mission it was designed for as a medic pouch. It carries twice the supplies of a normal individual first aid kit. If you’re conducting mounted operations or staying close to your support vehicle I think it would allow a medic carry enough kit to be mission ready without needing to carry a large bag or pack filled with stuff you won’t need right away to sustain life.
