Grandmother Lauded After Coming to Rescue of Police Officer

A 56-year-old woman came to the rescue of a cop being beaten on the side of a road authorities said. Vickie Williams-Tillman was running errands when she saw an officer in an argument with a man. The woman rolled down her window and was just about to ask if the policeman needed help. That's when the grabbed the officer's baton, and began beating the officer over the head, said Baton Rouge Police Chief Carl Dabadie. She also was able to get the man's hand off the cop's handgun, Dabadie said.
