FLIR's "Renegade” mobile unit is a thermal imaging command center on wheels that travels around the country giving demonstrations of the various thermal imaging cameras FLIR manufactures. One of those cameras is HRC: a high-resolution cooled thermal security camera that’s mounted to an extendable arm. HRC is designed for long-range thermal detection and provides a television-quality video output.
This Mobile Training Unit (MTU) travels around the US giving security professionals an opportunity to learn about thermal imaging from the experts. It is equipped with the latest FLIR technology, and can go into the field for customer demonstrations, much like it's involvement with the "Finding Bigfoot" show. The MTU is currently supporting regional thermal training forums for security integrators, dealers and end users.
The Training Program
In addition, the FLIR MTU is fully equipped as a mobile training center. This customized 40-foot long RV has comfortable seating for several students in a spacious dual push out room. It carries a full compliment of FLIR's thermal imagers, and has telescoping masts that can provide an unobstructed view for long range imaging. Guests can evaluate systems and see presentations on three big screen high definition TV's.
The MTU can visit an agency or department's site (space permitting) in support of a thermal program development effort.
