A 45-year-old woman was arrested Monday night after police say she rammed into an unmarked Massachusetts State Police cruiser working a road detail, injuring the trooper inside.
The woman, Kimberly Anderson of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, is charged with operating under the influence of alcohol, State Police said in a statement.
The cruiser was hit around 9:20 p.m. on a portion of the Massachusetts Turnpike in Newton, according to the statement. State Police closed two lanes of the highway following the collision.
It was not immediately clear how seriously the trooper was injured. He was taken to a hospital.
At the scene, a cruiser with its emergency lights on could be seen with damage to its rear, WCVB reported.
