A Massachusetts woman, who police said was driving while under the influence, was involved in a crash with a Maine police officer Tuesday.
The dash camera from the police cruiser shows the officer driving down Rt. 109 in Wells, Maine with a green light. Another car, which would’ve had a red light, can be seen entering the intersection from the left just before the cruiser hits the car. The cruiser, police said, had extensive front-end damage.
Police said the 2006 Volvo had been exiting the I-95 off-ramp.
When the officer hit the Volvo, officials said that car then pushed into a 2021 Chevrolet Silverado Pick-up Truck that was sitting at the red light waiting to exit the Wells Transportation Center. Another car, a 2019 Toyota Rav 4, behind the pick-up truck was also hit.
Victoria Mann, 68, of Lawrence, was driving the Volvo. She had minor hip pain but refused treatment. The officer, Dylan McNally, was treated at York Hospital after he complained of wrist pain. The other drivers were not injured.
Mann was arrested and charged with operating under the influence of alcohol or drugs. She was released cash bail and is expected to be arraigned on Dec. 27 at the York County Judicial Center.
