An exchange of gunfire Thursday morning left an officer and suspect injured in far northeast Dallas, officials said.
The U.S. Marshals Task Force was serving an arrest warrant for a capital murder charge about 6 a.m. in the 9900 block of Adleta Boulevard near Skillman Street when the shooting occurred, according to police.
A Dallas police officer was shot in the leg and the suspect was also shot although police did not say the extent of the person’s injuries.
Both were taken to a hospital, where the officer is in stable condition and the suspect is in critical condition, police said.
Dallas police chief Eddie Garcia posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, that the officer was “going to be ok, and in great spirits.”
The investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
