Ultra Cuff frames are forged from 7075 T6 ordnance-grade aluminum, and permanently joined by 4140 heat-treated spiral locking pins. The combination of materials and manufacturing process results in a cuff that's incredibly strong, with tight tolerances that keep the bow and frame in perfect alignment, for faster application. It also yields weight savings of as much as 25-40% compared to many popular handcuff models: the steel bow version weighs only 11 ounces, while the aluminum bow model is a truly belt-friendly 9 ounces.
Within and surrounding the advanced frame is an impressive array of features, starting with ASP's signature, interchangeable Lock Sets - allowing the cuffs to be purchased in a one, two or three-pawl setup, and reconfigured or serviced with replacement sets at any time. The bows have flat contact surfaces with beveled edges for smoother application and reduced risk of subject injury. The single-direction lock/double-lock release makes adjustment and removal foolproof.
The new Ultra Cuff model is connected with stainless steel hinges, providing a high level of subject control. A chain version is also available for those putting a priority on fast application.
