A crowd of people can be seen working to pry open the driver's side door as smoke is coming from under the vehicle's hood.

One of the bystanders tried to kick in the cruiser's window before several people were able to get the door open.

Officer Ashley McLamb was found disoriented inside the cruiser and the Good Samaritans worked quickly to get him to safety.

Police said that the officer suffered no serious injuries and was recovering at home Monday.

"We're very blessed that people in the community were there, they were proactive and that God placed them at the right place at the right time," Police Chief David Hess told the news station.

The cause of the crash hasn't been determined and is currently under investigation.
