Alabama Police Officer Injured During Traffic Stop Altercation

LEESBURG, Alabama -- A Leesburg Police officer sustained injuries while performing a traffic stop on Sunday night.

Police Investigator Jamie Chatman pulled over two subjects in a truck on Weiss Lake Boulevard in Leesburg and became involved in a scuffle with the driver of the vehicle, according to reporting from WEIS Radio confirmed by the police department.

The altercation led to Chatman being transported to Floyd Cherokee Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries.

During the stop, a motorcycle stolen out of Cullman County was recovered, the reporting indicated.

Jessie Cambron McKinney, 40, of Crossville and David Bone, 44, of Sand Rock were arrested on the scene.

McKinney, the driver of the vehicle, was charged with first-degree receiving stolen property, along with resisting arrest, driving while suspended and without possession of a driver's license, amongst other charges. According to the Cherokee County Sheriff's log, his bond was set at $8,000.

Bone was charged with first-degree receiving stolen property and was booked into the jail with a $5,000 bond.
