A Weirton city police officer was taken to the hospital after crashing into an ambulance service building, Jan. 22.

HANCOCK COUNTY, W.Va. --

A Weirton city police officer was taken to the hospital after crashing into an ambulance service building Thursday night.

It happened on Pennsylvania Avenue just before 9:30 p.m.

Two cars were involved -- the police cruiser and a silver car. There was damage to the ambulance service building.

West Virginia state police were called in to investigate the crash.

Police would not release any further information.

I personally feel that news reporters are at liberty to give more information than this right here. I feel that this wtov9 just got lazy and didn't want to take the time out to explain this to us. To the officer involved, best of luck on injuries if any at all, can't be too sure on account of this articles description. Condolences on crashing but how exactly did it happen? I would like to hear it from you on account of news reporters getting lazy now-a-days
