I guess the English Police do not know about or use heat alarms with a paging system? Tragic loss.

K-9 Handlers please test and make sure your heat alarm works regularly. If it doesn't, get it fixed. If you don't have one..get a system installed and protect your partner as he protects you. It's the least you could do for them.

This is a tragedy. Although, I have no idea what was going on while the handler was leaving the dogs in the car, I still always think that they (my k9) are my partners. I have to take care of my partners.

He didn't even get suspended??? He killed 2 members of the police force. Those dogs might have saved his life some day. He trapped them in there to suffocate and die. I truly hope he was doing something very important while he left them there. This story makes me so sad. Dogs are so good-natured and inherently trusting. To betray that trust is terrible.

I can just see them in there.. hot and panting.. their loving eyes looking out the window.. scanning.. searching.. waiting for their master that would never come.

Do any of you people that are blasting the officer on here think that the officer realized what danger he put the dogs in? He obviously didnt realize it that is why he wasnt suspended. I guess all of you supposed fellow officers have never made a serious mistake in your life. You are so quick to judge and sit high on a horse. Half of you commenting are probably not even cops.

wait...
It's a little disheartening to see so many quickly judge, without yet knowing the facts. Do we not get enough of that from the public? It's entirely possible that the dogs were left in the car with the AC on, and some type of malfunction occurred. Let's slow down a bit, and wait for the investigation to run its course.

Dan..If this clown didnt realize the danger he was putting the dogs in then he is DEFINITLEY an idiot and gives even more reason he should be suspended.

IDIOT
As a k 9 administrator and handler for 25 years I have never even thought about leaving my partner in the car during the summer months, Common sense, tells you they will nor survive. The officer was neglegent in his responsibilities, he needs to be a door greeter at wal mart. I would fire his ass so quick he wouldn't know what happened , this was totally an unnecessary tragic situation.
