LOGANVILLE, Ga. --

Channel 2 Action News reporter Pam Martin has obtained surveillance video of a stun gun incident involving a Gwinnett County police officer at a Loganville Waffle House.

Danny Wilson, a Waffle House employee, alleges that Officer Gary Miles Jr. came into the restaurant while on duty and stunned him with a Taser without provocation. Wilson said Miles was a regular at the restaurant and had taunted and intimidated him in the past.

Miles, who resigned from the Police Department this week after six years on the force, later surrendered to investigators. Gwinnett police said an internal investigation revealed Miles used a Taser on Wilson without provocation.

Two additional officers were identified as being present during the Taser incident. Sergeants Joey T. Parkerson, 39, and 41-year-old Christopher T. Parry both resigned following an administrative investigation. Parkerson was a 13-year veteran of the force and Parry was a 14-year veteran.

Parkerson can be seen in the surveillance video, although he did not shoot Wilson with the Taser.

The incident happened Feb. 16 at the Waffle House in the 2700 block of Loganville Highway, police said. The department launched an investigation after its internal affairs unit received information about possible criminal conduct.

Mike Puglise, an attorney representing Wilson, said it took him until the end of May to get surveillance video from the Waffle House and later filed a notice of intent to sue.

Authorities said the investigation revealed enough probable cause to arrest Miles.

"We are disappointed by the incident and this is not a reflection of our training," said a representative for the Gwinnett Police Department.

Miles has been charged with one count of battery and one count of violation of oath of office. He was booked at the Gwinnett County Detention Center and later released on $8,100 bond.

Martin visited Miles’ home for a comment, but could not reach him.

Police resignations
Why on earth would three police officers do something so ridiculous? They gave back there jobs, which are jobs that most people would die to have. It's embarassing to the rest of us when cops act like such *censored* heads!! Grow up!!

Wow. The best piece of advice I ever got about situations like this was from one my sergeants: if a co-worker does something stupid aka illegal in front of you, do NOT lose your job over their stupidity. Pull them aside, tell them they need to let a supervisor know what went down, so that YOU don't have to. An officer that does something retarded should not put his co-workers jobs in jeopardy simply because they were present. If the offending officr doesn't speak with a supervisor, then those present should report it. Give that officer the opportunity to explain the situation first. If they don't, then you have no choice but to bring it to a supervisor's attention. I LOVE my beat partners, but they don't pay my bills and they don't feed my family. I'm not losing my job over someone else's stupidity or ego trip. And by the way, I'm not speaking specifically about this incident, as the details given here are very general. The fact that everyone resigned though... doesn't bode well. Hope that was one helluva breakfast they had.....

Well said copchick.. I can't believe the other two officers were Sergeants! There should have been no doubt.. some officers are afraid to tell on other officers, but a Sgt???!!! Not only would the other two take the fall for this cop, but they are taking the rights of a man they're sworn to protect.. I would never do such a thing.. I might as well just turn over my badge if I'm gonna let other officers go around tasing innocent civilians!

Joseph's comment
Joe, while I do agree w/your comment(s), however if in fact you're really are an officer of the law - then please note that it's "THEIR" (not there) jobs. I just thought you would want to use the correct spelling especially when filling our your police reports. Other than that, I fully agree with you. While we probably only know half the story, it would seem this rouge cop had it in for this guy for some reason. The cop should have stayed the hell out of there.

Dumb, Dumber, and Dumbest
Maybe the officer was trying to tase all the cockroaches on the counters and accidently tased the employee.

I think I'm going to take the Dumb Test.

What a moronic threesome this was! Amazing how some slip thorugh the cracks, but three on the same department? Ans Ced, since you're the spelling police on this blog I presume you meant 'filling out' and not "filling our". Just thought I'd help you out.
