Ahh, the problem with american society. I feel that the model jail, is in Maricopa County in Arizona. The issue with our justice system is that the criminals WANT to go to jail. Its my understanding that the Sheriff in Maricopa County is being forced to close his tent city, due to the death of an inmate during a hot day. This I bet had nothing to do with all of the ingestion of narcotics, or more likely Karma at all. If jail wasn't a country or "county" club, im pretty sure people wouldn't wanna go. Kinda like putting your kid in timeout....you don't put them there with a Wii, or XboX...if tents are acceptable for our military, they are more than good enough for our criminals. Here's a thought; close the $100 million facilities, set up $100 tents, let a few die and wha-la...problem solved...

With all these buildings empty throughout California, they could be put to cost-effective use. The unobtrusive jails can be located in various communities. Streets would stop appearing so barren. No need to build new buildings or have outlandish future dates of operation.
(And we would stop shooting ourselves in the foot:sending $$ and inmates interstate. )
Problem solving....
