People want the federal government out of their business until it comes to passing out tax dollars. How about cities and counties paying for their own police officers? If they have budget problems, they can make necessary cuts and adjustments like everybody else and give taxpayers a break. I don't need to pay for police officers in Boise.

Stimulus funds for over budget department
Here in the city of North Miami Beach we have an annual budget of over 21 million with a population of just over 40 thousand. And we received mega stimulus. We hear and feel your need. Whats up with that? ALSO ON THIS SITE WE HAVEN'T SEEN ANY REPORTS ON A TRAINING OFFICER SHOOTING A TRAINEE WITH A SHOT GUN! On Virginia Key, Miami..... Whats up with that?

G4Justice, alot of us at mdpd are unimpressed with the money our agency got. The department is wasting it royally on things like additional training facilities, instead of more urgent things like upgrading our radios, or getting automated report system on the mobile computers.. its amazing.

Simulus: Another Agency Neglected
Oh, not to forget! Ask "STELLAR" Chief Al Lamberti of the Browards Sheriffs Office. Broward County, Florida. How mant stimulus dollars his agency received. Last I heard, NONE! Why? Whats up with that? G4JUSTICE North Miami Beach, Florida Police Chief........ Rafael Hernandez.....City Manager... Pastor Kelvin Baker........Mayor...... Myron Rosner..........City Attorney.....Darcee Siegel........Deciding Factors at The City of North Miami Beach, Florida......The City Council Members, some say " Asleep at the wheel" Their position's are just their way to feed off the "CASH COW" coming from the citizens Tax Dollars! So it just seems the ones that need the dollars to serve the people properly don't receive them. And the ones that do, don't serve the people properly. As the distribution of the stimulus dollars seems to show. Who is responsible for that? G4JUSTICE

What about all of the small or rural law enforcement agencies ? The majority of law enforcement agencies in america are smaller departments that police small cities and counties. In the economic times that these areas are facing, there isn't any money to fund their needs. The majority are understaffed and underequiped and these situations pose a threat to the safety of the public we are sworn to protect. However, a lot of these chief executives in government such as city mayors and county judges have their priorities all wrong and spend the much needed money on useless items to keep their political voting support happy. Why don't the federal governement and state governement throw a few dollars towards us and stop the local political corruption ?

Big departments feel left out because small departments got money? Try being a small department that barely has enough money/officers to cover your county. And that is to just make sure you have at least 1 deputy on the road 24/7/365!

I agree with Rick. It is amazing how people and corporations want all forms of government out of their lives unless it is tax dollars. Furthermore, these people and corporations want government to pass laws that favor them at the expense of the rest of the community.

To Jason. The trouble is that if the federal and state government come in and clean out local corruption including law enforcement, the local people will be screaming that the state and federal government have no right to poke their noses into their business. Several people including cops have made similar statements on this website.
