"Pelham Police Chief Edward Fleury was charged because he owns the sponsor of the gun fair"

Are you serious?!?! Because he owns the sponsor of the gun fair, he is being charged with involuntary manslaughter? My condolences to the family, but that just sounds like some douchenozzle prosecutor looking for a name for himself.

This could only happen in the US
This horrendous tragedy once again highlights the extraordinarily high cost of US gun policy and the sheer gee-whiz ignorance of those who glorify it

Very very few civilized modern societies promote the primitive notion that there is something so very scary out there that we had better all be armed to the teeth. Yours is a society where everyone is terrified only of each other.

Gun ownership has nothing to do with freedom. It's all about profits for those who promote, produce and sell the weapons.

Gun ownership does go with freedom. I myself, own guns just for the fact that I can. I have that freedom of choice to own a gun and if I wanted, not to own one. The right to bear arms was not meant for hunters or sportsman, it was meant as a citizen's defense against the government. Having the right to own a gun ensures you have your other rights, even though we are going down a slippery slope of losing some of our rights. From time to time there will accidents, but in life there are accidents in everything you do.

Only in the Peoples Republik of Mass. could he be indicted. Well maybe NY, NJ, MD or San Fran.

Mr. Singh
What wonderful country do you yourself call home? I have yet to hear of one with no violent crime what so ever. We americans prize the right to defend ourselves and our property from whoever threatens. Obviously you are completely ignorant of any crime studies involving those places with strict gun control and those that allow regular citizens the right to carry a firearm concealed (what a scary thought). Do the research, look at the numbers and then maybe, you might possibly be able to understand why so many americans exercise their 2nd Amendment rights.

How stupid is it to give an 8-year-old an automatic weapon to play with? Even if he had adequate supervision, it would've been a very dumb idea. The people in charge of the gun show are most definitely responsible..... it's up to them to ensure that everyone handling a weapon is old enough and trained well enough plus that proper safety measures are in place.

The father should also be responsible as he saw a 15-year-old giving his child a weapon to play with, yet he did nothing but try to take a picture.

I can't believe the ridiculous comments left on here. Incidents like this are the reason gun owners are so restricted, not "politics". When irresponsible people set up shows like this just to make a buck, things go wrong. And the rest of us pay for it with more restrictions. Stupid people should not be around weapons.

An eight year old died because of a gun. Isn't it time we permit guns only in the hands of those that are paid to protect/defend us? OK NRA fans try to defend this with your quip that, "guns don't kill people, people kill people." So, who's the responsible person here?

Under who's care, custody, and control was the 8-year-old at the time of this accident? Oh, his father, you say? Then charge his ass too.

If you read further in Ma it is a felony to furnish a machine gun to a minor and the range officer was only 15 years old and not certified in any way. Check out www.masslive.com for details.
