this is a shame:::::
People like O.J. Simpson go free and a cop makes a mistake and goes for ten years. This government sucks, the justice system sucks, and its a disgrace to send someone to prison when he had no evil intentions. Wise up you liberal jack ________s.

You have to be kidding
Willie Wofhofer has got to be kidding. A cop makes a mistake? Lying to a judge to get a search warrant - not a mistake. Wrong house - mistake. Shooting her when she shoots at them - standard protocol. Planting drugs in the basement - not a mistake.

Mrs. Johnston paid for the "mistake" with her life.

Should OJ have been convicted, heck yes. But he wasn't, thanks to a crack team of lawyers. But should these guys have been convicted? Heck yes! By being the very people society has chosen to uphold the law, they have no business breaking the law, not even if the only people they planned on hurting was a drug dealer.

I am very pro police and, because of that, hate it when people like these sully the name of police everywhere by being dishonest.

"State Sen. Vincent Fort (D-Atlanta)...called for a robustly funded citizen review board to investigate police misconduct and legislation outlawing no-knock warrants to protect both the public and the police." Does this idiot know that no-knocks protect officers lives when used PROPERLY. Perhaps law enforcement should call ahead and schedule a time for us to come over and take illegal narcotics! A typical knee-jerk reaction from a liberal catering to his constituents! I am sure drug dealers will increase their campaign contributions now.

The problem with the country is this; 1) crime rate is so high because of the type of punishment handed out i.e. parole, probation, jail terms etc. 2) Lawyers arguing petty excuses for major crimes. 3) depending where in this country you live some juruies dont really care about the crime since it does not effect them.

The solution; Look at punishments handed out in other countries i.e. severe limb for a limb life for a life etc...and some harsh jails where they are really feeling the time being done. Instead the criminals get fed well, work out yards etc.

I am welling to bet that if we had this tiype of punishment it would be more of a deterent then our current system.

I agree... Any officers who lies as the affiant to get a warrant, then lie to Judge when he swears that his statements are true. Obviously, he lied to his team of officers regarding the target! Hello! A 92 year old lady as a suspect should have raised other questions.

Did he make a cold hit and buy from grandma or did he use a CI. These guys all lied and are a disgrace. They deserve exactly what they got. Crooked cops are a thing or the past.

Oh, by the way planting drugs in the basement. Get Real!

Don't lie !!!
My understanding of this case- officer Tesler wasn't involved in the planning (search warrant), the execution (shooting), or planting of drugs. BUT he knew about the planting of the drugs and later lied to help his fellow officers. He would not be involved at all if he didn't lie, but now a young daughter is (possibly) going to be without her father for up to 10 years...Don't ever lie about anything. Make a mistake, learn, and get better- do not try to cover it up.

WTF
Lying to a judge to get a warrant signed, Shooting an innocent old lady, trying to cover it up. Hmm; these are things every hard working honest cop does in the course of his day. GET REAL!!!! These bullies with badges should be thrown under the jail. When I first started we took an oath to enforce the law and protect the innocent.

Every officer who works in Criminal Justice Agency learns early on the impact of US Code 42 Section 1983, this officer violated it. Narcotics officers are under high stress but also must be kept on a short string. We have a case in Tallahassee, FL where a CI was murdered and the case keeps going and going. None acting under the color of law are exempt.

I'm confused here. He already got 4 1/2 years but now could get another 10 years? He didn't even fire any shots. This guy just allowed himself to be used by his co-workers (if that's what you want to call them). I followed this case when it was on Court TV. He was by all means his co-workers patsy which is a shame. Why was this little old lady's home a target in the first place?

But Justice pro, 42USC1983 is civil sanctions, I'm sure the family of that old lady will have a field day with that! There goes that poor little girl's college fund ;-) He got charged with 18USC241, depriving a person of their civil rights, which is the criminal ...Ten years to serve aren't enough...If the prick would of told the truth, he wouldn't be in a 6x9 hotel room. Thats definately goin from one extreme to the other....
