ORLANDO, Fla. --

An Orlando Police bicycle officer took a wild ride overnight while trying to make a traffic stop.

The officer tried to stop a car that was driving the wrong way on Church Street around 1:00 Sunday morning.

According to eyewitnesses, when the officer grabbed onto the window of the car to talk to the people inside, the driver took off.

The officer was thrown from the car, but was not seriously hurt thanks to his bicycle helmet.

Bicycle patrol at 1am? And why did he grab unto a window? Number one rule of traffic stops, do not hold the car and do not put any of your body parts into the car.

Bicycles and cars don't mix, if your riding a bike during your shift you gotta be super careful, thank god the officer wasnt seriously injured.
