PERRY TOWNSHIP, Ohio --

A Perry Township police officer caught on camera kissing her chief is out of a job.

Dash camera video showed Officer Janine England and Police Chief Timothy Escola cuddling and kissing while transporting a prisoner.

Escola retired last week. England tried to resign, but township trustees declined her resignation and instead fired her for an affair unbecoming of an officer.

Both England and Escola are married.

Chief Escola retired
I am surprised that Mr. Escola would accuse someone of jury rigging the camera and call for an investigation. That is so underhanded and sneaky, you know, like cheating on you spouse! I wonder if he thought that because he was the Chief that he was safe. Maybe some was jealous or was tired of the "Duty Booty" and wanted no part in covering it up.

I was given this advise by an old deputy sheriff that I knew along time ago(cleaned up and paraphrased). Your badge will get women and women will get your badge.

At least they fired the honey trap.

If this had been two guys or two gals, no-one woulda touched this one! Sucks to be heterosexual I guess. Days off? Sure (inappropriate activity.) Fired? matter of opinion.

At least this department and local government did the right thing and got rid of these two scumbag cops. Dishonoring the badge and disgracing their spouses deserves more than just being fired! It needs to happen more often ... everywhere.

They didn't mention that the Chief was also a retired Captain with the Ohio State Highway Patrol who had troopers fired for doing much less!!!

I agree with Otis...double standard here! Why can he retire and she gets fired? There is no criminal activity here - innapropriate for the circumstances, but not criminal. The embarassment of getting caught should have been enough - especially with it being broadcast for all to see
We are all human and need to remember that we all make mistakes....
