BRUNSWICK HILLS, Ohio --

The Medina County sheriff's department said a standoff with the Brunswick Hills police chief has come to an end without incident.

The standoff took place at Chief Robert Oseicki's Lonetree Court home.

The sheriff said the chief, who had been on paid administrative leave, had barricaded himself inside the home alone.

The sheriff described the negotiation process as friendly and respectful. He also said Oseicki made demands that could not be met.

Neighbors said it may have had to do with Oseicki's job situation, and one neighbor said Oseicki had been dismissed Thursday.

The sheriff said Oseicki will be taken to a hospital for evaluation and it will then be determined what charges, if any, will be filed against him.

Standoff w/ police Chief
What's the deal out there, what does he need? Hopefully all are reaching out to him. This is tough time for all, especially LEO's. Hope he is ok...

The Standoff
It hard enough doing your job with a barricaded suspect, but when it is someone you know and worked with. The pressure becomes exponential.
Hats off to the Medina County Sheriff's Office, for a job well done, bringing the situation to a peaceful solution.

RE CHIEF
Prayers for the Chief, and a job very well done by the SO, these are the worst situations a cop can get called to,under normal conditions, when another cop is involved, it becomes huge, i have been called to 3 cop situations, all turned out well, all three cops got help and are back at work or retired......hang in there Chief all wiill be OK.

Chief stand-off
Just curious as to what the stand-off was for.....? Nothing in the article mentioned why they were called to the house & why there was a stand-off. I'm glad everyone is ok.

Sad Situation
Something like this is a sad situation. Anything to do with LEO dealing with LEO like this is very hard for everyone invloved.

Although I don't know the situation and it really doesn't matter, this is a tough time of year for a lot of people. For anyone to go through tough financial times during the holidays or lose a job is sad. When it's someone in LEO, it just adds to the stress of everyday life and work.

No matter what it's over, the high point is someone in law enforcemant doesn't die and other officers don't have to live with what could have been a very sad out come.

Cudo's to the SO and hope the Chief gets help for the issues he has to deal with.

I would just like to know more back ground info. Why was he dismissed from his job?...was it something he did or something he was not doing?

Come on, why is everyone feeling sorry for this guy. I'm sure he has probelms that he needs help for but he barricaded himself putting other Officers and the public at risk. If he's that unstable, then he has no business with guns.
