Rick, Are you really cracking on a cop that stopped and took on an armed suspect? He not only stopped the guy but got shot too. Really? He's not good enough for you? Wow. You must be some kind of stud. Classy.

Rick you are arrogant. The officers (and yes I called them officers) put their life on the line and sounds like responded like a true professionals. I also remember a couple of years ago when two Capital Police Officers gave their lives in the line of duty. I am a city police officer and I consider the capital police officers my brothers and sisters in law enforcement. You may wear a badge Rick, but it doesn't sound like you are anybody's brother in law enforcement.

He is a CAPITAL POLICE OFFICER, not a security guard and he risked his life to save someone who probably would have been killed otherwise.

Please don't start calling these guys security guards.

Rick as someone who started as a "security guard" I always find the need to remind you "REAL COPS" that it was a "security guard" who apprehended Robert Durst while half the country was out looking for him. It is BLOOD SIMPLE, You wear a badge, You act responsibly, You put yourself in danger for others You are my brother and as such you have my respect . Godspeed to those injured.

Wow Rick I hope you are alright, but you need to realize that you're just a d-bag that is jealous because you are too stupid to be able to get into federal law enforcement.

Oh I know you tried, but failed miserably I'm sure. When did you wash out... during the 10 week agency specific training, the 12 week basic uniform police training, or was it the PT, please tell me you at least made it past the test.

I see you're in DC. Hope you never need any back up from the USCP. I hate it when my service weapon jams.

Rick lol
Rick, you are obviously not a cop because you have no idea what you are talking about. DC has many police officers who work in different capacities. Now I will have a diet coke with my cheeseburger please.

Brotherhood
Well, Rick, when you step in a pile of crap be prepared to smell like it for awhile. The thin blue line holds up under enough pressure without dissention amongst its own. Yes, Rick, he is our brother just as you. But even brothers need a knot jerked in their @ss once in awhile. Think before you speak next time and if you truly meant what you said then it is time for you to re-think your career status.

US CAPITOL POLICE
The U.S. Capitol Police may sit on doors and run X-Ray Machines, but they are still FLETC grads and brother and sisters in law enforcement. The may not encounter the horrible and tragic crimes on a daily basis as MPD or other county and state agencies, but they are commended on doing a good job in reference both incidents. The Merz that fled on the traffic stop ended in dead suspects. That's CUDOS for them. The officers are not the problem at the capitol, its the security guard mentality of the managers and officals of the agency. They are what holds the agency back from being more proactive. Its that typical government mentality. Worry about the buildings and grounds and if you want to be the MF real police, apply to MPD. US Cap police have MOU and the authority to do the job. Its the leaders that don't want them to. I don't know about you, but I could not sit on door or put up with half the BS they do.

Rick obviously you have never been around the Capitol Police. Every year my dept along with 4-5 other jurisdictions take between 1000-1500 kids to DC on a field trip. Every year we interact with the Capitol Police. These men and women are very professional, courteous and go out of there way to help us with whatever we want. They are as much Police Officers as anyone else. You do sound like you might be upset because you didn't get that Gov't job. Don't be upset, move on done here to TN, I can introduce you to the head security guy at one of our malls and maybe just maybe he'll give you an interview
