It's about time
Before I was promoted in 2006, we were pushing for this. As a former k9 handler in Virginia I stand proud and say thank you to all that made this possible!

Memorial
This is a really ggod thing. As far as Im concerned it should be a murder charge when some thug kills a Police dog. These dogs have more character and worth to society than the POS they apprehend.

k-9 memorial
I am very glad to see this memorial. I agree it is long over due. My dad's K-9 King was killed in 1972 in Augusta County, VA. He was shot many times saving my dad's life. His name is not on the memorial but Mr. Hoover is working on adding his name. Thanks to all who made this possible.

What a fitting tribute. I am not a K9 Handler but an avid dog lover. A K9 is an officer and should be treated as such in life and death. As far as what CJ says I agree, kill a Police Dog face murder of an officer charges. These dogs go into places so we dont have to, we owe them that for their sacrifice.

Virginia K-9 Memorial
What an honor for these Police Dog Officers. As many have said they go where human officers cannot. They ask no questions, they do what they are trained for, and in the end many give their lives to protect others. Any criminal who kills a Police Dog Officer desrves to be punished as though they have killed a human officer. God bless each and every Police Officer, human or dog. Thank you for protecting your communitys in each and every state. In God we trust!!!
