Milwaukee Officer on Bike Dragged by Vehicle

MILWAUKEE --

A Milwaukee police officer is recovering at home after being hit and then dragged by a vehicle.

Police said the 32-year-old officer was hit on 38th and Hadley streets while riding a bike.

Police said when the officers on bikes approached the vehicle, the driver hit the gas striking an officer and dragging him.

The other officer pulled out his gun and started shooting. The suspect was not struck.

The vehicle was found about six blocks away but the suspect was gone.

Police later arrested a 17-year-old male after he went to a nearby hospital with a knee injury.

According to police, that suspect admitted his involvement with the incident.

The suspect was wanted on a warrant for escaping from a juvenile facility where he had been placed.
