Gangs
This is good news ---in a way. The reality is however that taxpayers will be sentenced to support these maggots in prison for years, and the taxpayers are already over taxed supporting inmates , illegals. bums who could work but wont. government pork programs, According to news articles the government spent $650 million dollars of taxpayer money so they could give out $40.00 free coupons to people to by a converter box from analouge tv. This is criminal.

The only real solution to this problem is that unrepentant gang bangers be executed by the state. If the career gang bangers are released back out into society they will prey on the public again.

This nightmare policy as typical of taxpayer dollars being mismanaged that keeps unrepentant career criminals alive at taxpayer expense is colapsing as is typical of liberal policys which are based typically on emotional reactions and ignorance, rather that reality.

If only those who were aginst the death penalty had to foot the bill for keeping gangbangers in prison so they are well fed and nice and healthy to return to society one day to murder again, then their views on the death penalty would cahnge in many instances.

Great . . . sort of. We'll send them all to prison where they can actively recruit new gang members. That's one hell of a cycle.

Good work! Of course here in Memphis and especially in the suburbs, we don't have any gangs. There is noooo way we would ever ID anyone as a gang member, as the Officer wuld be condiered a racist.

Outstanding work--you all deserve the highest acknowledgment in gratitude. Getting as many as possible off the streets was the priority. Yet, The loss of Deputy Ortiz and the pain permeates throughout the article. I am glad additional silent comfort was actualized.

"It was this hatred of African-Americans that may have spurred the attack on Deputy Jerry Ortiz, who was killed trying to arrest a gang member suspected of trying to shoot an African-American man in the back".

Deputy Ortiz, continue to RIP. No good man or officer dies in vain. They are never forgotten.

Can you throw racist hate crime charges against them plus terrorist charges against them since the Patriot Act and other federal laws, executive orders have certain things in them that makes the gang come under the status of being a terrorist?

Nice!
What they didnt tell you , because of the liberal mind set, broke government from thier socialistic mentality, the over crowding of prisons, thier all be let lose in about 5 years or less.

You can blame the conservatives for helping overcrowded the prisons as well because they want to show that they were tougher on criminals than the liberals. Former New York Governor Rockefeller, a Democrat, introduce the toughest laws particularly drug laws because after the Attica riots, the conservatives keep railing him about him being too soft on crimes.

Two former Republican California governors, George Deukmejian, Jr., and Peter Willson help create the fear of growing crime in their state and oversaw expansion of the largest prison system in the United States. A few years ago, Governor Arnold asks George Deukemjian to help fix the prison system. Deukemjian gave a report that blame everyone except himself for helping to creating the prison problems. Of course, if Deukemjian and Wilson had put money into the school system and create a job apprenticeship program like they have in Europe, California would have probabely the fewest inmates of any state. Schools are given the lowest priority when it comes to spending; however, they are given the highest priority when it comes to budget cuts.

Too bad the death penalty actually costs more per person to do than to actually keep them in prison. Anyone who says other wise is ignorant.
