KOKOMO, Ind.
--
A woman used a box cutter to slash a Kokomo police officer Monday during a child abuse investigation, police said.
Antenette Lewis, 26, was arrested on multiple charges, including attempted murder, aggravated battery, criminal recklessness, resisting law enforcement and disorderly conduct.
According to police, two officers were sent to the Indiana Health Center after authorities reported that a child there may have been abused.
Police said Lewis got angry when a Child Protective Services employee informed her of her parental rights.
According to police, Lewis pulled out a box cutter and swung it at Officer Zachary Rodman, striking him in the chest and arm.
Rodman's arm was cut, but his chest area was not injured because he was wearing body armor, police said.
Police are working to determine if the child had been abused.
