Two high school students in Brevard County, Fla., were killed over the weekend when their vehicle flipped at least three times and landed upside down in four feet of water, according to police.

Police said Morgan Gordon, 16, and her passenger Chelsea Beck, 17, both from Mims, were killed when they crashed on state Road 405, just south of state Road 50, as they traveled home from a party in Port St. John. The girls were students at Astronaut High School, the report said.

Officers said Gordon was going about 70 mph in a 45 mph zone when she veered off the road and then over-corrected.

The sport utility vehicle slid sideways and then went into a roll. Police said it was a violent crash.

"This is one of our fears," a Titusville police officer at the scene said. "You got an inexperienced driver, alcohol and speed. It is a very bad combination."

Titusville police promise to find the person who supplied the alcohol and bust them for it, Local 6's Todd Jurkowski said.
