The Osceola County Sheriff's Office has charged corrections officer Michelle Hung with 13 felonies for her involvement with Angel Santiago's attempted escape from the Osceola County Jail on June 22.

Detectives said Hung and Santiago had developed an elaborate plan for Santiago's escape.

Hung was charged with filing a false police report after detectives showed her evidence, which contradicted her statements about the escape attempt, the sheriff's office said.

In addition, Hung was charged as principal to all of the felonies Santiago was charged with, including kidnapping, armed robbery, aggravated assault, attempted escape, two counts of introducing contraband into a detention facility, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, impersonating an officer and resisting with violence.

Hung is also charged with two counts each of depriving an officer of means of protection and unlawful use of a two-way communication device.

I've said it a million times, and I'll say it again. Women don't belong in male facilities, and men don't belong in female facilities. Period. Happens all the time.

I have been working in a male facility for more than two decades. I am a heterosexual woman and I would never, never, consider any type of relationship, platonic or otherwise with any inmate. Do not say women don't belong in a male facility. To say SOME women don't belong working in a male facility is true, but not all women working in corrections are like the idiot in this article.

CO and C.O both have good points in their comments. However, I truly believe that males need to work in male facilities and females in female facilities.

I agree, there is no need to mix the sexes in a jail or prison. You are just asking for trouble and another embarassing article on Law Enforcement.

Stupidity
For those who choose to ignore reality and live in a dream world mixing sexes in a prison seems the politically correct mentality.

It amazes me how many people in our society create their own version of reality by ignoring hard facts and common sense, and basically decide they are going to believe and live what they way they wish, even if it defys all reality.

(The classic example of this is the fool who believes gun control has an effect on criminals who disregard the gun laws)

To mix sexes in a prison environment is a violation of nature and common sense,it opens the door for all kinds of problems which could be greatly avoided if you had the sensible thing: all male and all female prisons. But common sense and hard facts will not hinder the ideology of those who have no higher authority for reason that their emotionally based feelings.

Well i'm a female, and I gotta agree it should be male/male and female/female in the prisons. They can't possibly determine what kind of man/woman would be susceptible to forming a personal relationship with an inmate. I'm sure most of the one that do, never see THEMSELVES as the kind of person that would do that. Then they meet someone who they think is "different" or "special." There's just no real NEED for mixing sexes in the prisons.

Did she disarm her partner by taking his weapon and radioing in false info.

What a disgrace, let her rot.

Traitor
No P.C. for Hung, since she chose her side by letting the inmate escape, she shouldnt need nor be granted P.C. let her mainline !
