This "officer" i perfer scumbag for him has always disgusted me I have always had a weird feeling about him. Back in 97 I could not believe that he was able to get his job back....I saw him 3 months ago at the county jail and he has just gotten fat and even more disgusting..DPD admin should have just pressured him into quiting...I hope this is the last straw for him.

lol. "In the Know", I assume you work for DPD?

It will probably be the last straw if he drove while under the influence, but if he has sought treatment for alcohol abuse in the past...you might just be stuck with him.

i agree with the first comment. met him at jail and i as well got that creepy feeling.... i guess i wasnt the only one who noticed he got fat. Sgt Senior corporal is the name that started floating around... who promotes and then demotes himself?!?.... I was shocked to hear that story about the girl... well rumor was he fondled some female at jail... guess that was wayyyy off.... im surprised it took that long for them to catch his drinking. that smell was very common for those that made contact with him daily... hope this is the last straw...

By the way..... i like the statement "Department officials were still trying to determine if Cpl. Atique drove a vehicle during that three-hour span."..... how could he not have been driving??? was he stuck at the station for those 3 hrs??? i think not! ( but who knows, maybe he was trying to sober up)

scum
Well... here's the deal, in every profession there is always that "one" person that is an entire drain on everyone around him/her. But... in this prestigious career, this CANNOT be tolerated. As police officers we are held to a higher standard than that of the general public. I have met police officers who fit this very criteria and they make me sick to my very core. This is also true with FAT officers. I'm not talking about a little overweight, thick, big, I mean FAT! This also should not be tolerated. The issue with this particular scumbag in very unfortunate, just another blow for the Dallas Police Department. What is even more unfortunate, he stays on the job even though clearly his peers around him want him gone. I am not sure how Texas works, but in Missouri, you do not need a reason to fire someone. Even if this were not the case with Texas, it sounds like his superiors need to take one for the team and get rid of him, seems to me this may be causing a stressful working environment.. hint... hint...
