Advocates are worried that agents could be heading to more populated areas away from the border to make arrests...I hope so !

Management should realize that illegal immigration has been reduced signifcantly since the world-wide economic downturn. AKA there's no more jobs here for illegals to take so why come here. That might be why agents are having less arrests leading management to mandate quotas.

Illegals
Only 150? Good Lord, with the huge influx and thoise wandering the streets, thst should be a days work if the politicians didn't hastring the agents with bureaucratic red tape and they didn't have the ACLU and all the bleeding hearts breathing down their backs. Now that the economy is down the tube, Schwarzenegger and Obama can figure out how to pay the medical expenses out of non-existent funds for the illegals. Must be from our non-existent tax refunds.

Its sad to have to set a performance measure, but the fact is if they dont set some goal or mark or quota if you want to call it that. Some officers will set on their back side and let a few carry the load. I have been a cop for 30 years and have seen officers brother -n- law it. Count an assited arrest because they drove by while I was putting handcuffs on somebody. Keep up the good work guys. The government might want to think again about using troops to patrol the border. Most other nations do.

Lazy BP
I agree with Mike T , you have to set some sort of standards if you don't they will sit on their fat a%^ and draw a check, I see it first hand in texas every week at freer and laredo everyone sitting in a folding chair in the shade waving those 18 wheelers through like they have a free pass, just a waist of taxpayer money as far as I am concerned, FOX guarding the henhouse!!!

Quota is such a dirty word, however I have over the years I have seen where supervisors have pushed LEO's to "do more", as in writting more tickets as one example.

As bad as the immigratione problem is in the U.S. there shouldn't be any question that Border Patrol Agents can find enough illegals and deporting them without being pushed to make "quotas" by the brass, after all there are enough illegals in our country

As if BPA don't have enough to deal with now as it is. It's no wonder there is a shortage of agents.

Supervisors are urged to set numbers (quotas) for the troops all the time in one form or another from their supervisors. Shifts changed or yearly appraisal downgraded. It has to be signed by the supervisors boss even if their immediate supervisor gives a good rating. Hopefully the troops on your unit will be gungho. Then their hands are tied and you wonder why anything gets done. There are plenty illegal aliens to be arrested. Good Luck Troops
Be Careful Out There

Let me make sure I got this right. Illegals complaining that they are being targeted by the Bordor Patrol for being in the country illegally...and there is even an advocate (who is probably illegal too) voicing this "concern". Its no wonder this country is quickly in decline.
