MARSHALL COUNTY, Okla. -- Chickasaw Lighthorse Police Special Agent Robert Patrick Flickinger was killed in an on-duty crash on March 7, according to a realease by the Chickasaw Nation.
"The Chickasaw Nation and State of Oklahoma have lost a hero," Lighthorse Police Chief Jason O'Neal said in a statement. "Agent Flickinger considered it an honor to serve his community and was well respected within the law enforcement community. He will be missed dearly and our prayers go out to his family."
Agent Flickinger was hired by the Chickasaw Nation's Lighthorse Police Department on Sept. 27, 2004. He was promoted to a Special Agent last October and was assigned to work narcotics enforcement.
Agent Flickinger had a total of 16 years of law enforcement experience, was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and graduate of the FBI National Academy.
Agent Flickinger was a member of both the Lighthorse Police Scuba-Dive Team and SWAT Team.
Funeral Information
Funeral services for Agent Flickinger are set for Wednesday, March 12 at 2 p.m. at the Watts Funeral Home in Madill, Oklahoma.
