North Carolina Trooper Injured in 2007 Dies

I was very saddened to hear of the loss of this outstanding Trooper here in NC. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and those who served with him. His loss is a great one for not only his family but to the patrol, and this state. Rest in peace brother, you will not be forgotten.

To the law enforcement community of North Carolina, please accept my deepest and profound condolences on the loss of one your finest. On this day, we are all North Carolina officers as we grieve with you.

Trooper Barber, may God carry your spirit in his arms as he takes you to Heaven and eases all of the pain that your earthly body felt resulting from your injuries. Thank you for your selfless dedication and service to the people of this nation. Rest in peace my friend.

It is always a great lost to all of us in law enforcement when one of our on dies. Trooper Barber you will not be forgotten. our prayers go out to your family. May you rest in peace .

Rest in Peace brother, I wish your family peace, knowing you did a job only us few can do. Curious, are there any other stories about this incident, it's just surprising to hear someone has passed from what this article is saying is a leg injury.

mad-irishman, while I cannot be sure about what I have been told it sounds as if Trooper Barber may have contracted some type of staph infection. These infections are unfortunately quite common when a rod, screw, etc is placed in the body. All of us here in NC are mourning the loss of Trooper Barber, the 3rd NC Trooper to die in the last 11 months.
