What a tragedy-May the brave Officers rest in peace-they sacrificed their lives for the safety of others-dont know why they took the bomb into the bldg unless they thougt it was a fake.

Thought it was fake!!!
Never assume nothings fake!!!!! Always take a case like this and ASSUME not --a---thing; is the best advice experience tells me . Don't move anything .. But now we all know this!!!! Be safe !!!! Thoughts go out to the familes... Training can get you in middle of these cases ,but it's your calll -- no moving NUttin !!! Don't think you're an expert at nothing ,live along time. No matter your training . Experts are for stories and movies ,and class room talks ,scenarios ,courts,on the streets you have one chance at real life ,training can take you so far, don't play with your life thin blue line!!! Time is your friend in most cases . Jumping to conclusions can be problemmatic to you.... Training will not always --take a deep breath --- wait for ATF ,even ATF waits ,nothings wrong with taking a step back , don't let ego get you.. As in Ruby Ridge--Waco--... Don't be to sure ..Self preservation is job one --Stay safe --GET BAD guy --Take constructive critcism- WAIT-- Your life is at risk on the streets ,carefull now ...

I can't tell you how many times after being dispatched to a suspicious package we are canceled enroute. Why? Because the first arriving PD post car just opens the package! DUMB, DUMB, DUMB! It is not a matter of if this practice will get someone killed but rather when. As this case shows us, even when the pros go hands on with a suspected device bad things can still happen. RIP brothers.

Never assume that what you have is a fake. Remember assuming is making an ASS out of U and ME !

May these officers RIP and I pray the police chief makes a full recovery. My thoughts and prayers go out to there families and to there agencies for this senseless loss of two brave men.
I hope all officers across our nation learn from this experience and this never happens again. Our country is full of sick individuals and unfortunately we cannot take things for granted anymore. In a post 9-11 world we need better training and the equiptment to handle calls like this.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the families of the fallen officers. As a bomb tech I can't say it enough NEVER ASSUME AND NEVER TREAT ANYTHING AS A HOAX. Doing so will get you and your fellow officers killed.
