JACKSON, Miss. --

Jackson police are searching for an escaped inmate.

Officials said 28-year-old Daniel Chamblee was being transported to a local hospital from Copiah County when he jumped out of a moving ambulance just after midnight Thursday.

Chamblee was arrested for domestic violence and felony DUI.

He was last seen near Interstate 55 and Mason Boulevard.

Officials said Chamblee is 5 foot 9 and weighs around 140 pounds, has blonde reddish hair and a blonde goatee.

If you spot Chamblee, you are asked to call the Jackson Police Department at 601-960-1234.

This subject was captured the next day, coming out of a wooded area close to where he escaped. Verify with WAPT, at 601/922-1607. This story is now a month old, and needs to be cancelled. Thanks.
