JACKSONVILLE, Fla. --

An 18-year-old inmate is back behind bars, after police said she escaped over the weekend.

Officers arrested Affuah Ajavon Sunday night, behind an apartment complex off Art Museum Drive.

Police said she broke out of the Montgomery Correctional Center early Saturday morning. Inmates at the center take part in supervised prisoner work crews.

Investigators said the teen assaulted an officer during her capture, forcing to use a taser to subdue her.

Ajavon is charged with escape, violation of probation, aggravated battery on a law enforcement officer, and resisting an officer.

I always wondered why some people try to escape the police you never get away. Even if you think you avoid them for a while as soon as you are seen they will get you. Maybe if help was offered at jail she would not have tried to escape and she just could have served her time. I am glad she was found and taken back to jail
