ORLANDO, Fla. --

An Orange County grand jury found no cause to indict an Orlando police officer accused of pushing a woman down stairs.

The decision on Tuesday means there will be no criminal charges against Officer Fernando Trinidad.

Jessica Asprilla said Trinidad pushed her, causing her to lose her balance and tumble down the stairs at Club Paris. A video shows the fall.

The grand jury could have indicted Trinidad for battery, if it found he had pushed Asprilla.

Asprilla and her attorney have filed their intent to sue the city and said after the decision that they plan to move forward with a civil lawsuit.

The law suit is what they really wanted. The charges were just a formality.
