ALASKA OFFICER ACCUSED OF ON DUTY RAPE
The news of an Officer being accused of Rape is so disgusting and to say the least irritating and uncivilized. How on earth can a police officer involved himself in acts that can tarnish his lmage and the institution he represents. If found guilty, he should be severely dealth with.

rape
Agreed Sarge! If proven to be true then hang 'em high, as I am of the ssertion that all sex offenders should swing!

If this is a case of just "gettin laid while on duty" that has turned into a very serious but perhaps untrue set of allegations, then he is still screwed, but not criminally. I am hoping that is all this is, as it would be a shame to the badge to have a rapist among us. Illegal and immoral/unethical are 2 different things.

Either way he is done.

Well he sure got hung out to dry on this one. Hope the allegations are true, otherwise he's ruined as the department basically just admitted guilt for him.

not rape
This is just another case where a good cop is being a accused for something he didn't do. I bet his name is cleared after a few month. There are so many wacko girls out there that want money and is whiling to do what it takes to get it. He probably let his d**k do the thinking before he had a affair and slept with the wrong person, and there could be jealousy trowards his wife. O

Gentlemen,

How about holding your opinions until he's either convicted or exonerated. Ever heard of innocent until proven guilty? Don't be presumptious. An individual can be "accused" of anything and - if they're in a high profile position (i.e., cop) - the media will run with it. If it were any other private individual, they would be committing something called "slander" and could be charged or sued. Don't align yourself with that group. Let's give this guy (as we would any person) the benefit of the doubt until facts prove otherwise.

sjanc...i notice u only comment on stories involving alleged misconduct or criminal allegations against officers yet when i read stories about officers who bravely get shot or lose their life defending citizens like yourself, u never show any appreciation...just an observation!

In response to In NC -
It is very simple.. he's deranged

comments like:

"Expecting to constantly be noticed and admired for what cops are supposed to be doing is a little aberration by itself, but it does get noticed quite a bit compared to other professions."

that he makes are absurd and make no sense.. I would like to know if Sjanc respects and appreciates the military.. It is their job right? but it's a dangerous job, more dangerous than cooking in a restaraunt or being a garbage man.. thats why people often give respect to soldiers.. and police.. but Sjanc doesn't underdstand that.. though our job may inherently involve a greater risk of death than some (but not all) other jobs, doesn't mean that we don't deserve any appreciation for risking our lives to help others.. in fact the thought of giving my life for someone like Sjanc makes me sick, because he would probably just think to himself "well that's what she was paid to do".. not thinking for a minute about my small son who will never know his mother, or family who will miss me.. cooking a meal at a restaraunt isn't nearly as important (in most people's opinions) than saving someone else's life, so no, people cooking food doesn't often make it into the paper...

The things that I said probably make sense to almost anyone reading them.. but there are all kinds of people in the world, and some of them are just deranged.. they don't get it, and they never will.. and unfortunately for us all, sometimes they makes their way onto officer.com

Officers raping
This article disturbs me, but does not shock me. Here in MI we are paying out 100 Million dollars over the next 5 yrs to 500 victims of our prison system for being raped/harrassed by Male Correction Officers while incarcerated in prison. Too often male Officers (in positions of power) are attempting and successfully doing this. This occurs in our militaries/prisons/cop cars...why is this happening and how can this stop? Our profession can not have this. Do we hold the supervisors accountable for their subordinates actions?
