"There was nothing imminent, and they are very good now at tracking potentially dangerous actions, and this was preventive," said Schumer, D-N.Y.

Both lawmakers were briefed by law enforcement officials.

Two U.S. intelligence officials, who requested anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss the case publicly, said the target of any purported attack - or who would carry it out - remained unclear.

Authorities have not found any weapons ready for use that would indicate an attack was imminent, they said. Nevertheless, one of the officials called the threat very real and emphasized the urgency of it."

Make any sense to you folks? They found nothing yet stress the urgency and the skills for pointing these people out. Someone is needing more funding huh?!

There can be urgency without physical evidence. Imagine if on 09/10/2001 you said people were going to hijack planes and use them as extreme VBIEDs and all they found on the searches were box cutters. I'd be willing to bet there's more to the story that the CT officials familiar with the case are rightfully keeping close at hand. Also, the "two U.S. intelligence officials, who requested anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss the case publicly" probably have nothing to do with the case or else they wouldn't be speaking about it.

"Counterterrorism officials are warning police departments around the country to be on the lookout for evidence of homemade bombs following raids on several New York City apartments in a hunt for explosives and possible links to al-Qaida operatives."

Funny that I work in an Ohio Police Department and have
not seen this warning. There has to be more to this story
then we are being told about.
