Lieutenant Dan, a terminally ill German shepherd, became an honorary K-9 officer thanks to the generosity of an Ohio police department. The 7-year-old rescue dog was sworn in by the city mayor as an honorary member of the Newport Police Department. Dan was diagnosed with a progressive disease and would have been euthanized at a shelter if foster owner, Taylor Craig, had not rescued him. In hopes of helping Dan live the fullest life, she put together a bucket list for him to complete.
