Former Officer Brown
Sounds to me like the Dept. tried to handle it internally but Brown kept getting into trouble. I'm sure that he was probably told "Screw up one more time and your gone".

From the other posts, I get the feeling that most Officers are with the Dept/Chief on this one.

Any one care to explain why these "officials" lives are held higher than the lives of the people they are sworn to protect!
Shoot stab or even knuckle up on of dem and get thrown ne'er the jail or the chair, yet these asses are taxing 80 yr old ladies 10 14 yrold girls, killing people who are handcuffed , it past brutality towards blacks or minorities, if you don't have a niform on , you are a target, I didn't say not a cop, they shoot plainsclothes cops that look like regular niggas, if your are not wearing a uniform you are a target!
People wake the *censored* up, martial law is real, !
And there will be the racist whites with their negative niggardly commets, when the shoe is on he other foot and you or your family or loved one is harrassed, abused or violated by one of these cowardly dip*censored*s with badge and gun.
Might is not right, but a devils mind isn't about doing right any way , now is it?

Huh?
I don't agree with what he did, infact, he should have either been written up or fired the first time he stole.....not be kept on patrol racking up a record of bad moves. That's on the department for not handling it properly. However, the big stunt by both of them is now causing US ALL grief! Keep it in house or put all of the GOOD things we do on the news as well, that way the rest of us good COPS aren't looked at as douche bags! Neither one of them is helping us look good right about now. And yes, it is a Brotherhood! don't forget that.

We had an idiot like this who felt entitled to receive free food on the job. He actually would put his uniform on when off duty and go pick up pizza because he knew he could get them for free! He has since retired but recently was arrested by the same department he worked for his whole career. After retirement he got a job as a clerk at a grocery store and stole merchandise from the store.

I think it's really sad when officers feel this way. I think they let the badge go to their heads. At the end of the day, I am a police officer but I'm also a regular citizen and don't feel like I'm above paying for food. So rediculous!

COP, just because someone wears a uniform and a badge does not mean I should stand up for them. Think beyond some bizarre unwavering loyalty mentality. 2 years on the job, three crashes, one nearly killing someone, stealing from IHOP and veiled threats to an ice cream shop employee. Is thsi really the kind of officer you want to call 'Brother'?

Suspects are usually no tougher or better fighters than the officer they face. In 13 years of street patrol I've never had my ass kicked. I've either been fortunate enough to de-escalate the situation or I was quicker with my use of force than the bad guy. I also don't rely solely on that damned equipment on the "bat belt" to always get me out of jam. Officers have so much crap on their belts that we've lost the fine art of hands-on combat. The suspect has no use of force policy to adhere to or a damn internal affairs divison to worry about when they use force. The problem is the officer has to use only the force required to effect the arrest, the suspect doesn't. Officers have to play by the rules or he gets screwed, the suspect doesn't. Officers typically have to fight with one hand tied behind his back, the suspect can do whatever they want to do. So to close, the suspects aren't tougher, they're just damned fortunate there are rules that the officer has to play by the rules to avoid getting fired, getting sued, or going to jail for using excessive force.

Indiana's Parkinsons Law
It sounds good on paper, but it has no teeth. Getting a Doctor to say that something you did or came in contact with in the line of duty caused Parkinsons is impossible. I was diagnosed with young onset Parkinsons while working as a Police Officer. I was told by a Lawyer that I have no case against my Department for presumably causing my Parkinsons. Like I said it sounds good on paper, but until Doctors agree as to what specifically causes Parkinson's you have zilch.

Do Californians wonder why their state is bankrupt? Why evaluate everyone? They must be worried about getting sued. I work for a medium-sized midwestern agency. When we book someone in, there is no nurse-evaluation crap. If the guy needs stitches we take him to the hospital, otherwise he can lick his wounds in a cell and talk to the nurse in the morning.

Alot of people dont know this cops as well. If a person is sentenced to death, even if he doesnt get it,he spends 23 hours a day on lock down like he or she should! now if a person gets life in prison, behaves for a few years and gets to lower classified prison yards there time can be so much easier! So the point is a death sentence is hard time, anything else is easy after the criminal and victimaizer does a few years! I wish the dirt bag liberals would understand that.

Making sure my whole point point is accross.
And yes, I dislike thieves! You should be punished for stealing no matter who you are, but keep things quiet. Now I am looked at bad if I go into Ben and Jerry's in uniform, yes because of that police officer, but ALSO because of the department VERIFYING that "its true, the ones in uniform steal!" What happened to pulling him/her aside and chewing their butt without ratting on them???

I understand this makes us all look bad, but what happened to keeping "it" in the family? Deal with it internally! The chief says "this", the chief says "that", now everybody tries to get away with more and hurt us more because they think the department wont back us.....which seems to be the case more and more! SAD! No need to talk with the media and burn Your BROTHERS! Would you burn your blood family?? I wouldn't. And I sure as heck would NOT burn my Brothers on the force, for the sole fact that YOU ALL are coming to cover me, and I WILL come cover you! The chief in Portland just Burned one our Brothers for doing his job to the fullest and did nothing wrong "its on video even" and now he is suspended for two weeks. The chief tells the media that she is against him, and the people that dont like the cops to begin with are committing more crimes since they know that the cop will get in trouble for doing his/her job!!! SAD! He's even being investigated by I.A. If she doesn't agree with his tacticts, deal with it internally. Be safe my Brothers!!!!! Dont stop being COPS!

Funny, regardless of the vehicle used, you mean to tell me there's a chance the FBI screwed up an investigation? By the way, Camden is a dump, worst city in NJ. I'm sure those victimized drug dealers will be treated fairly by the FBI and not immediatlely judged like the officers are. Maybe the FBI should take off their suits, put on some BDU's, and help out the Camden Police?
