Flying Fox Sensor (Cellular, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth: Detection, Identification, and Location)

Sept. 29, 2016

The Flying Fox Wireless Sensor provides unparalleled PASSIVE wireless monitoring, detection, and location capability to Law Enforcement and corrections personnel.  Over the past four years, our team has focused on leap-frogging the existing wireless device detection solutions, leveraging our decades of experience working in the wireless telecom world.

Flying Fox sensors were developed in collaboration with the Naval Research Lab’s (NRL) Flying Squirrel Program Office, and enable 24/7 detection, monitoring, and location estimation capabilities for all Cellular, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth devices.

  • All passive cell phone detection solutions on the market today rely upon energy detection alone for detecting cellular handsets.  They do not possess any way to verify that the signal monitoring is actually a cellular device, and this leads to continual false positives.
  • The Flying Fox sensor actually demodulates and decodes the complete initial messages sent from a cellular handset to the tower.  When we indicate a phone is active, we are 100% sure.

         Zero false positives.  Period.
