Iom America, premier two-way radio manufacturer for utilities, healthcare and municipalities markets, announces the new F3210D Series land mobile radio. Icom's latest digital portable radio joins the company's IDAS product line that uses the NXDN common air interface. This entry-level radio is compatible with IDAS multi-site conventional, single-site trunking and MultiTrunk multi-site trunking.
The F3210D Series is suitable for outdoor use and in noisy environments. Icom's new portable is IP54 weather resistant, rigorously tested to MIL-STD 810 specifications and easy to use even while wearing gloves. The radio has a built-in bridge-tied amplifier that provides 800mW loud audio output. The channel announcement function reports the channel number when rotating the channel knob — convenient for making announcements without having to look at the radio. For maximum field safety, the new IDAS radio has "lone worker" and emergency call functions to alert dispatch of urgent situations out on the field.
The F3210D/F4210D portable radio operates in VHF/UHF and is ideal for utilities, campuses and other markets requiring reliable coverage in-building and between locations. IDAS radio features include individual/group call, digital voice scrambler and more. In MultiTrunk multi-site trunking mode, the roaming scan function automatically finds a new site to retain optimal radio communication.
The F3210D averages up to 17.5 hours of operating time (using the BP-265 Li-ion battery pack). Supplied accessories include battery pack, antenna and belt clip. The F3210D portable also has an internal VOX capability for hands-free operation when paired with an optional compatible headset and plug adapter cable. In addition, the radio supports a number of optional accessories and chargers.
